If you’ve ever visited your local grocery store, pharmacy, or anywhere else on the planet during Girl Scout Cookie Season, you know it’s a feeding frenzy of people that NEED THEIR GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. Years ago, my daughter was a Girl Scout and had an amazing experience (with a ton of badges to prove it)! Sadly, during that time, my daughter and I had already been diagnosed with Celiac Disease. It was painful seeing stacks of cookies and knowing we couldn’t partake.

Fast forward to 2015: the Girl Scouts stepped up their cookie game and recognized the need for gluten-free options. As we enter 2019, Girl Scouts of the USA kicked it up another notch with an exciting addition – the Gluten-Free Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scout Cookie featuring rich caramel, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt in a chewy cookie. This latest gluten-free cookie offering is made by ABC Bakers, is certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization, produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility, and meets a 10 parts per million standard set by the GFCO.

The gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip will join the returning gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookie, a rich, buttery cookie with sweet, crunchy, golden toffee bits (introduced in 2015) available in select areas. Toffee-tastic is made by Little Brownie Bakers.


Both gluten-free varieties are offered only in select Girl Scout council markets for as long as supplies last, and they can only be purchased from a registered Girl Scout. Not all varieties are available in every market, so contact your local council to inquire about the cookies they will offer this season. Like similar consumer products, gluten-free cookies may be priced higher than other Girl Scout Cookies, reflecting the cost of production.
